Sometimes, it takes more to revitalize your soul than just wishful thinking and some searching within. You also have to take the initiative to find ways to recharge your essence and allow your mind to properly relax.
If you’ve found yourself trapped in a stressful cycle, then it’s time to take advantage of these five holistic concepts. They all require you to reach outside of (current) yourself in an effort to make you feel more like old self again.
1) Reiki Healing
Reiki is a type of healing that basically involves healing from within by imbuing your life force with a higher power. When you look at the literal translation of the word, which stems from the Japanese, that’s exactly what it means.
Most Reiki practitioners lay their hands on you – some do a type of healing massage at the same time – and help increase your healing by adjusting your life force in a very spiritual way. The end results leave you feeling relaxed, more powerful, and most importantly, more revitalized.

2) Henna Body Art
Also known as henna tattoos, henna body art, or mendhi, is much more than just a late-90s trend brought about by Gwen Stefani. It’s actually an Indian ritual that cleanses your body and revitalizes your soul.
Henna body art involves having large drawings done on your skin by a specialized practitioner. Once the henna has had a chance to solidify and set in, it’s washed out, although the markings remain in place for several weeks. The end results are quite magnificent, and the process of having them drawn on is incredibly peaceful.
3) Meditate
Meditation is an ancient practice that involves clearing your mind and focusing on a specific image or phrase. Some people manage to find the time to meditate every single day, as it helps them focus on the tasks at hand.
Although you’ll need to learn how to properly meditate (it’s trickier than it sounds), once you have, you’ll feel better. Meditation seems to have a direct effect on your soul, as well as your mind. You’d be surprised at how much better you feel once you start doing it on a regular basis.
4) Healing with Sage
You’ve probably heard of smudge sticks before. They are made of sage and are great for cleansing your home of any harmful energies. They do the same for your soul as well.
Sage healing has been practiced for hundreds of years, if not longer because it has a track record of working well. If you don’t want to use a lit smudge stick, you have the option of a sage essential oil or even a stick that burns similarly to incense. Aim the sage at your chakras in order to open them up and allow you to heal from within. You’ll feel much better once you have.
5) Spend Time Outdoors
Many people find that the outdoors – particularly out in nature – makes them feel whole and at peace. Nature just has a way of revitalizing your spirit. If you start feeling lost and trapped into a stressful spiral of your own making, find the time to go to a local park and begin walking down a trail that leads through the woods. Focus on nature – leave your cell phone behind in your vehicle – and the many ways that it heals itself. You’ll emerge at the end of your walk with a clear mind and a lot less stress.
